Padmaloka Bursary Fund For over 30 years Padmaloka Retreat Centre has been running Buddhist retreats that have been of great benefit to many people - in 2006 over 1500 people attended Padmaloka. Those attending regularly tell us how important being at Padmaloka is for them, for many they see it as their spiritual home. The Padmaloka team believe that for a Buddhist practitioner to be able to attend regular retreats is a vital part of their spiritual life and to be unable to attend due to finances is very unfortunate. This seems particularly so for those wishing to train for ordination but find their progress held back by lack of funds. From 2007 Padmaloka is providing a bursary fund to help people who would like to attend Padmaloka retreats but are unable due to financial difficulties. We are asking people who are able to give and feel inspired to help fellow Buddhists get on retreat to make a donation to this fund. People in the past who have helped fund a friend to come on retreat have told us that they found it very rewarding knowing the benefits their friend would be receiving. In order that people in financial difficulty can attend retreats in 2007 we need your support throughout the year. Without your support the amount of special concessions will be limited due to the funds Padmaloka has at its disposal. For 2007 we would like to raise £3000 which would allow for example: -
The earlier in the year we receive the money the sooner we will be able to offer these concessions. Apply: If you would like to apply for help from the bursary fund to help you come on a Padmaloka retreat please contact us before making your booking. Padmaloka is a registered charity (part of FWBO Surlingham - charity registration number 273850). |
