One of the most appreciated aspects of Padmaloka is the resident community, which is well known for its friendliness, hospitality, warmth and encouragement. The community plays an important part in ensuring that your visit to Padmaloka is enjoyable and productive.

The Padmaloka Community is the team which runs the retreat centre. There are 13 men living here some who are full time teachers / mentors and others who look after the day to day practicalities of running the centre.

There are some senior members of the Western Buddhist Order living here. As well as teaching and leading retreats they are involved in helping with the training of men who wish to become members of the Western Buddhist Order.

News

• November 2007 - Miles leaves to move to Norwich after a year of great work helping to keep the Padmaloka office running.
• May 2007 - Saddhananda joins the team to train as a replacement chef for Sanghadasa who is moving to London later in the year. Also Bart van den Berghe has joined the community for 4 months to help out during our hectic Summer schedule.
• March 2007 - We wish a warm welcome to Jinapalita who has joined Padmaloka as our new gardener along with Dharmadipa who takes on the role of Ordination Team secretary.
• January 2007 - Padmaloka waves goodbye to Padmadaka after 10 years. We all wish him well as he takes over as Chairman of the Norwich Centre.
