This retreat focuses on the Four Acceptance Vows that are recited at the time of one’s ordination. With these vows we accept ordination with loyalty to our teachers, in harmony with friends and brethren, for the attainment of enlightenment, and for the benefit of all beings.

These vows represent the spirit in which ordination into the Western Buddhist Order is given and received, and are said to encompass the heart of ordination.
