Beacon CRM Cyber Security Incident

On Monday 3rd August, we were notified that our CRM software provider was subject to a cybersecurity incident. It is unclear exactly what data was accessed. As a precaution, we encourage you to be vigilant to any suspicious emails and calls.

Beacon is thoroughly investigating the incident. At this point, they think that copies of database backups were made and likely downloaded. Whilst the data is stored in an encrypted state, the third party responsible for the incident may have been able to decrypt it.

The data we hold predominantly comes from the booking forms, so it may include the following information:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Contact details
  • Date of birth
  • Record of donations made
  • Other information provided in the booking form such as health and diet.

Protecting your personal information is really important to us. We are following the guidance provided by institutions such as the Information Commissioner's Office, reviewing our own policies and protections to minimise the risk of future cybersecurity incidents and communicating with Beacon to try to establish what, if any, of our data has been accessed.

We are not currently aware of any misuse of your personal information. However, as a precaution, we recommend that you:

  • Remain vigilant for any suspicious emails or calls
  • Exercise caution before clicking on links or attachments from unexpected communications
  • Never disclose passwords, verification codes or financial information in response to unsolicited requests

If our investigation identifies any further information that may affect you, we will provide an update here . In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns please contact info@padmaloka.org.uk
