More fundraising for Guhyaloka, A memorial service for Sarvasiddhi, and a garden work week.

The fundraising efforts for Guhyaloka have continued at Padmaloka. Varabandhu joined us for a week to lead an experimental Guhyaloka For The Ages Phone Appeal, his enthusiasm and skill in fundraising really shone through, and lifted the teams spirits. The mythic context of the appeal formed around Yellow Jambala, an emanation of Ratnasambhava, holding the jewel spitting mongoose. The team began each evening of calling with water offerings to the Jambala rupa, evoking abundance.
The appeal was a success, raising at least £30,000 and also becoming more than a financial venture, but a great opportunity to build sangha. So many of our calls these days are scheduled and timed, so it was refreshing to call friends out-of-the-blue and communicate, getting a glimpse into their lives before talking about a project we really care about.
This week we also held Sarvhasiddhi's memorial service. Padmavajra led the service expertly. Sarvhasiddhi was remembered for playing an important role in the formation of the modern Ordination training by transcribing Subhuti's work in the early 90's, his ecceentric nature and devotional digital artwork for Padmasambhava.
This followed into the Autumn Garden Work Week, one of the support team's favourite events. New beds have been made in rose alley that are ready for planting, trees have been felled and a new fence made along the woodland boundary. The atmosphere is one of a shared Virya, with many skilled men working on theur respective areas of the garden.

This is the pinnacle of our retreat calendar, a special intensive meditation retreat that offers a unique opportunity to enter into deep stillness at a potent time of year.
We’ll explore the qualities that enable us to become Kalyana Mitras and bring about the maturation of the heart.

Come on this retreat to explore the practice of Offering the Mandala, one of the Mula Yogas from the Tharpe Delam, or ‘Smooth Path to Emancipation’.
