When things become manifest
To the ardent meditating brahmin
He abides scattering Mara's host
Like the sun illuminating the sky
These first words of the newly enlightened Buddha arise from the realisation and knowledge of conditioned co-production, which is of universal significance and has a direct bearing on the condition of every evolving human being. Prior to this had been the heroic noble quest in search of the undefiled supreme nibbana. What followed was a life communicating the Dharma; the enlightened mind in communication with unenlightened humanity.
On this silent meditation retreat, which is devoted to Buddha Shakyamuni, we will be listening to the stories and suttas of the Buddha's life, dwelling in the atmosphere of the Buddha's influence upon us and transforming our mind in line with the Dharma.
Details and Timings
The retreat starts with dinner on the first day at 6:30pm and finishes on the final day at 10.15am.

We go forth from our ordinary circumstances, our comforts and distractions so that we can discern and move towards our ideals and help others to do so as well. When booking a retreat at Padmaloka it is important to get a sense of how you will be living here - what our customs, etiquettes and requirements for being on retreat are.
